Europe again on this trip too, this time Portugal, precisely Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra. We booked everything online through Expedia, it was the first time but I must say that everything was perfect. Lisbon is a beautiful city, full of young people from all over the world, cheerful and raucous as they should be. Beautiful palaces, some a bit dilapidated that would need renovating. Very beautiful are the streets of the centre decorated with mosaics. Served very well by public transport, and by taxis that are not expensive at least unless they rip you off as the taxi driver did with us who took us from the airport to the hotel, 20 euros.
When we left again another taxi with a much longer route 10 euros, careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch out also for pickpockets, well-dressed unsuspecting people, but at the first opportunity they take a withdrawal from your (my sigh) pockets (minus 150 euros). Fortunately, I don't know how, after three hours the police found the wallet with all the documents. If you fly easyjet and you don't have a document for travelling abroad (because they stole it with the wallet) they won't let you leave, so you have to go to the embassy for a temporary document, when you find the embassy open. Cascais is a town on the ocean shore, very beautiful and clean, from here we went by coach to Sintra, also beautiful but you would need a bit more time to visit everything calmly. On the way back we went to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe.
I point out a truly top place to eat, the most expensive we tried but it was known, it is called LISBOA NOITE and it is in the Bairro Alto district in Rua DAS GAVEAS 69, it deserves a visit. Other typical places are the taverns but you are truly well (don't look around) the price is truly low and the food excellent. Very convenient are the elevadores that take you up without effort, because Lisbon is on seven hills and the streets pull uphill. A tip, don't get the Lisboa card, it is no use, but get the 7collinas card at 3.75 euros a day, you top it up and travel on all transport. I forgot, as a hotel we relied on the Principe Real in the Bairro Alto. We were lucky, they reserved two suites for us without asking for anything. Excellent hotel with super breakfast. Until next time and good trip to those leaving, bye
