The story

Today the toy fair opened in Piacenza and will run until 29 March (weekend), a fair dedicated to children from 3 to 12 years old....., the ticket costs 7 euros, children don't pay. At the fair there are various play areas, the bouncy castles, the building blocks, the kitchen, the tricycles, the scooters, etc., each marked by a different colour and with an entertainer. My child had a great time, playing to the point of exhaustion, and naturally convincing him to leave was very difficult. The children also had the chance to try various sports such as ball games and martial arts; in fact, mini gyms were set up where qualified instructors gave lessons in the first sporting basics. Pizza party, face painting and games, games and more games. My child liked the event so much that he convinced us to come back next year.

After trying all the games at the fair at least twice, we managed (though with great difficulty!!!) to convince Matteo to leave, also because we had planned to visit the village of Castel Arquato, an ancient medieval village a few km from Piacenza; the day was glorious and the village enchanting. We parked the car in one of the free car parks next to the historic centre. The village is not very large but very characteristic; at the tourist information point they gave us a map with useful information for the visit, which began with the splendid basilica and its attached collegiate museum, the town hall and the fortress. Our short trip in the Romagna countryside ended with an obligatory tasting of local products in an old wine bar in the village.
