In Pentema, a small hamlet of Torriglia in the province of Genoa, a beautiful nativity scene is set up over the Christmas period. Walking through the village you can see life-size statues recreating the life and crafts of the late 19th century. We were lucky because, in the most classic Christmas tradition, it was snowing that day, and believe me it was truly evocative for Matteo (but also for us!!!) to visit these places in the falling snow. Before setting off, check the opening times.
for food and lodgings I suggest the Locanda del Pettirrosso.
Before heading home you simply must taste the delicious canestrelli of Torriglia — they're really delicious, we're absolutely mad about them.... Chiara and Giancarlo
