The story

A hike very dear to us Genoese is the one up Monte Antola, which at 1597 metres is the most frequented mountain of our Apennines. In spring you can witness a beautiful blossoming of daffodils and I'd recommend venturing up its climb especially in this season. There are several routes to reach the summit, depending on your level of fitness and the time you have. Being a bit lazy myself, I take it easy and start the climb already at altitude from the casa del romano, locality Fascia (about two and a half hours). The ascent isn't very demanding; you could even consider it a pleasant walk immersed in nature. Halfway there's even a table with a bench for an impromptu picnic.

The view you enjoy once you reach the summit is truly enchanting and the satisfaction of having made it is always great; a little chapel stands nearby and a few minutes away is the refuge where you can get some refreshment. On the way back we always make a stop at the casa del romano to restore ourselves after the effort before starting the road home.
