For those who love the mountains, this is a nice holiday to try...even if you don't ski there are plenty of opportunities to relax and have fun. For this holiday we stayed at the Hotel Fantelli in Folgarida. It's not in the village...you have to walk a little way to get there, but for those who ski it's in an ideal position because it's right on the slopes, so to set off you just have to cross the road and you're straight onto the slope...and on the way back you arrive directly at the hotel with your skis on. Besides, this year I know the hotel has been renovated and has expanded its wellness centre. Even 4 years ago there was a sauna and solarium with a small gym, and now there's something more. A warm welcome and good cuisine complete the picture.
As for sport, you can ski both in the Folgarida-Marilleva area and (with the Dolomiti Superski pass) in the Madonna di Campiglio area...which is nothing short of spectacular....especially on the GROSTE' where you enjoy a breathtaking panorama and it feels as if you could reach out and touch the Dolomite rocks. There's a wide choice of slopes and you can also ski on the legendary 3TRE...the slope where the world championships have been held several times. In short...for those who want to ski in a VIP place like Madonna, this way you can save a bit of money...given that if you stay right in the village the price goes up.....and Folgarida has nothing to envy anyone.
