Hunting for bargains (!?!)

Day 124 Nov 2007

the arrival...

What rotten luck! we enter the tunnel with a pale sun and after 8 km (endless!) we come out to snow (?!?). "But come on, what's a couple of flakes…" 15 km from Livigno we had to stop and put on the tire chains! if we knew how to ski that's one thing but like this…anyway, even putting on chains for the first time was an adventure! we arrived at sciùra Pierina's around one o'clock, starving and frozen, but what a room, guys! It's the first time I've gone to a bed & breakfast and I find myself in the room that's pictured in the photos on the website! that exact one! and nice and warm too! forget about going out in the cold….but we have to! Reconnaissance of the place and lots of walking, walking…but a bike trip, us? never, eh?

day 2

And what are we doing today? Naturally, we walk! But the bresaola here is really the best! In the end, shopping until 4 and then off we go! Too bad that someone had the brilliant idea of taking just that couple of cartons of cigarettes too many and so at the border they sent us back to change them at the duty free... argh!
