Girls' weekend .. here we come, Catania!

Why Catania?? you really want to know...

We are three great friends, Selene Pamela and Valeria, since high school..

It was a trip organised in a very short time.. I immediately found a good deal on the Milan-Catania flight at € 138.00, and so Pamela and I took the chance to meet Valeria again after a good 3 years!

The trip lasted very little, and at 17.30 we arrived at the brand-new Catania airport, where Valeria is waiting for us!!!!!

We're over the moon, we can't believe it!!!!!

We rush home to drop off the suitcases.. and off to the centre for a good aperitif at the CAFè EUROPA.

For the evening Valeria chose an excellent restaurant by the sea.. DA ERNESTO, all fish-based, over 10 starters.. a fabulous first course.. and to finish, fried fish and dessert..

The next day, following the seafront towards the north, we reached Aci Castello, just over 10 kilometres from Catania

A very distinctive place, the castle perched on the sea houses a Museum and the Botanical Garden inside.

The Castle is Norman in origin, dating back to the 11th century.

To enter the castle you have to pay the 3.00 euro ticket to admire the beauty of Aci Castello from above.

In the evening Catania turns into the city of the young.. lots of venues in the centre give you the chance to spend a lovely evening

Valeria chose for us.. the Poco Loco for dinner (MEXICAN) with live music and tequila..

The tour with the little train, honestly, I don't recommend it, since the roads are old and the little train keeps jolting.. it's hard to hear the audio.. and when you have to get off.. it feels like you've been on a rollercoaster...:)

A tip.. impossible to drive in Catania, no right of way or stop sign is respected, careful...

otherwise Catania deserves a visit, and then a weekend is enough to FALL IN LOVE WITH SICILY!
