Following the Cavour Canal. Starting from Chivasso you can follow the canal to the edge of the province; the limit is the Dora Baltea, which flows all along the Aosta Valley until it joins the Po near Crescentino. You set off from the Bricel Park in Chivasso and go as far as where the Cavour Canal begins its course; you follow the state road, first on the right, then at Tescaro you cross the bridge on the left and look for the way past the Chivasso-Asti railway. For about 3 km you follow the canal until you reach the bridge at Castelrosso, and from there you turn back onto the right bank of the canal, which you follow as far as Verolengo (watch out when crossing the SS11).

Once in the town you take the left to reach the railway and the canal, crossing it and turning right, to follow it for another 4 km; at the last bridge, where a barrier blocks the way, you turn right and plunge into the hamlet of Borgo Revel, until you reach a refreshment place (at my friend Oreste's). There you can restore yourself, and why not also eat some good food and drink some choice wine; you be the judge. The route is entirely flat; just watch out for the acacia thorns. Otherwise it stays very gentle and easy, with plenty of wildlife sightings, especially hares. Let the children go ahead, they'll have the wonder of discovery. The total route there and back is about 26 km, so doable for all legs stiffened by everyday sitting still. happy travels esserevento
