A Brief Visit to Padua

A brief visit to Padua, just enough time to see a few of the highlights, and the hope of coming back one day. We stayed at the Casa del Pellegrino hotel opposite the Basilica. A visit to the basilica and its cloisters, an extraordinary mix of culture, art and spirituality. Countless ex-votos, beautiful works of art inside; the basilica inspires peace and devotion but also the inevitable business of souvenirs that make a fine display. In the afternoon we took a stroll among the arcades of the centre, pushing as far as Prato della Valle. Unfortunately the next morning the alarm goes off early and we have to go to bed; a shame that our time to visit the city is already over, and a shame too that it is so hot!
