The story

we set off by coach early in the morning. There is a beautiful sun and it is hot. We take the SS 98 to reach the Manfredonia area, then turn off towards the 16 and the Gargano provincial road to take a look at the ENEA photovoltaic plant, an interesting technological reality of alternative energy in our country. After the explanatory visit we take a look at Manfredonia, a historic city (the name comes from Manfred, son of Frederick II) with its castle, tourist and industrial at the same time; then from the SS16 bis we look at the famous church of Santa Maria del Siponto and a quick glance at Margherita and its salt pans and at Zapponeta. We return in the early afternoon. Perhaps the places deserved more time but an organised trip has its rules!!!!
