The Itria Valley is an area stretching from Martina Franca to Cisternino, covering a broad territory between the provinces of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto, characterised by the presence of the trulli, the famous UNESCO heritage dwellings that have charmed even the Japanese. Take the Statale 100 from Bari if you want to head towards Castellana, Putignano, Noci and continue on to Martina, or the SS16 with a detour inland to Cisternino or first Locorotondo (we definitely recommend the delights of the CASAMIA restaurant in the Locorotondo area). The day isn't one of the best (at times it rains and it's rather cool) but nature has reawakened, as you can see from the pictures... a spring outing is definitely advisable for the splendid colours that nature offers us for free!
