Our journey on the island of the dammusi and of passito. I don't believe there's a place in the world better suited to thinking about the Moon. But Pantelleria is more beautiful. Endless plains of volcanic rock and the terraces of vines for passito, slopes plunging sheer into the sea. A sea motionless and at the same time thundering (Bue Marino), houses painted with lime right down to the steps, from whose windows on some nights you see unforgettable starry skies... sleeping seabeds... yet full of life and history. An amphora with petrified garlands and the remains of a wine worn away by the years... a swim in a steaming pool whose waters are so dense you can almost walk on them... The most beautiful photo does it an injustice... as Cartier-Bresson used to say
