A Few Days in Liguria

What a discovery Sestri Levante was for us. An excellent seaside hotel overlooking the Bay of Silence. Excellent service and a well-kept, pleasant town with its little alleys and its restaurants full on those summer evenings. Affordable prices and courteous service. From Sestri we took a boat to San Fruttuoso, stopping for an hour in Portofino. Portofino was more beautiful than we remembered (the pedestrianised centre perhaps makes the difference) and San Fruttuoso an oasis in the "middle" of the sea, though a little too beachy in July. A destination worth revisiting out of season!
