A weekend between Sperlonga and San Felice

After stocking up on water and food, Teo, the Mister and I set off in search of a bit of relaxation among the most beautiful beaches of Lazio, that is, between Sperlonga and San Felice Circeo. The first destination is a nice little spot in the surroundings of Sperlonga, so off we go. The journey on the Pontina proceeds smoothly, there isn't too much traffic and the weather is great. We arrive around 2 towards Terracina and decide to first go get some excellent buffalo mozzarella at the dairy and then head towards Sperlonga. Once we arrive in Sperlonga we look for a nice little beach and so, passing it, we stop at the western beach, the sun is still high in the sky, and it feels great. We have lunch with some sandwiches made just before getting out of the camper and we relax a bit.

The beach is quite large and on the left, on a cliff, stood a small tower and we try to go see if it is reachable so that we might spend the night on the cliff, but the road leading to the tower is a private road, so we decide to go to the San Felice lighthouse, which is a safe destination, evocative and above all easily accessible even with the camper. And so we get back behind the wheel, but only for a short while because the Lighthouse is only about half an hour from where we are, and so we arrive at the lighthouse with the sun still up....very beautiful. We were undecided whether to stay and sleep there but a sign prohibiting parking for vehicles taller than 2.20 m makes us desist and so we go to Torre Paola, the beach that connects San Felice with Sabaudia, and we stop at the first available spot after the Saporetti beach club.

Once we arrive we immediately go down over the dune and go have a little aperitif on the beach where at sunset it still feels nice, and so we relax a bit with some chips, a beer and the ball to play a little until dusk, when we gather everything up and go back to have dinner in the camper with the excellent mozzarella bought that same afternoon. An excellent dinner followed by a quiet evening in the camper, with Teo playing on the pc, the mister resting his eyes and me in mystical meditation hehehe, and good night.

Già di ritorno.

The next morning we wake up with the muggy heat characteristic of campers, that is, suffocating heat and lack of air, so after opening the window of the camper's double bed we try to sleep a little longer, but by now the sun is high and making itself felt, so after a quick breakfast we get ready and go back to the beach. It feels nice but the light breeze combined with a few little clouds makes us move from the shoreline to behind a dune to enjoy a bit more of the climate, no longer as great as the day before. The morning passes like this, between some chatting, some playing ball and a lot of relaxation, until around lunchtime the weather starts to turn bad, so we go have lunch quietly in the camper with a nice, and above all good, pasta dressed with a mushroom and truffle cream....what a shame the parmesan was missing.

Then the usual sandwiches with cold cuts and cheese and the legendary hunger-saving sauces that by now are never missing from our little trips.....ahhhhhhhh, an excellent meal I'd say. What a shame about the weather, by now spoiled by the big clouds, but luckily it isn't raining. So we relax in the camper, since in Rome we know it's raining, so there's no point in moving now to go get rained on and shut ourselves up at home; we might as well stay there and relax, and that's what we do. The mister and Teo play together on the pc while I give the camper a little cleaning. The afternoon passes in complete relaxation until around 6, when we then decide to head back, and so it is: the hatches are closed, the engine is started, GPS for the speed cameras, and off we go back to monotony...waiting for the weekend for the next trip.....for the next dream!
