With this one it is thirty years that we have been going fishing with a group of men only. For the anniversary we chose the Aosta Valley, and specifically Courmayeur. There were 25 of us, all those who have taken turns over the years. The priest's holiday house, as usual, we did everything ourselves, bringing everything from home, and three people who devoted themselves solely to cooking, with results I would call more than excellent. Sixteen of us were fishermen who tried their hand at the streams of the Val Ferret, Val di Cogne (with 20 centimetres of fresh snow), Val Pelline and Val Veny. The weather didn't help us as it rained almost the whole time, and so we countered it with Lucullan lunches and lots of laughter. Here's to next year to continue the tradition, and BON VOYAGE to anyone about to set off.
