I never thought I'd go to Munich for the famous beer festival that involves the inhabitants of this beautiful city so much. A friend of mine and I set off from Fiorenzuola on a Friday evening after work, we arrived in Pinzolo where my boyfriend and a friend of his were waiting for us, and after midnight we set off for Munich. On the motorway we got a flat tyre and, with a spare wheel Fantozzi-style, we made it to the hotel in Munich. At 7 in the morning our friends went to the Augustiner stand and we two went to change the tyre! After a huge mechanical "Mario Bros" session we left the car at the hotel and finally headed to the Oktoberfest by taxi! After 2 hours of queuing, shoving and a great hunger, my sweet little face moved a bouncer and we managed to get in too...
we found ourselves in front of the orchestra playing, the Germans dressed in their costumes and a huge crowd, but we found our friends plus my cousin's group, who were already at high beer levels!!! Chicken, beer and cheerfulness accompanied the rest of the day. The next day we slept for 12 hours and then went to explore the city. We came back on Sunday evening and I must say that as an experience it's one to do at least once in a lifetime!
