A splendid coach trip discovering Bavaria, its capital Munich and its castles. We stayed at the Hotel Bayenland, very convenient and lovely, close to the centre and the railway station, ideal for Oktoberfest too, as it's very close.
Day 125 Apr 2008
first day Italy Germany
Departure at 5:30 from Brescia, brief stops along the way, with stunning landscapes, first Alto Adige, then Austria with Innsbruck and its fantastic alpine landscapes. Around 2 pm arrival in Munich, at the Hotel Bayernland also recommended for those arriving by train or wanting to visit the Oktoberfest, as it's close to both, as well as to the center, a 10-minute walk along a big street that's always straight. It's also inexpensive.
Hohenschwangau Castle
Day 226 Apr 2008
The visit to the castles and Bavaria
Around 8 we leave the Hotel headed for Fussen, where Ludwig's castles are located. Stunning landscapes accompany us, first countryside, and then alpine. We arrive and find ourselves in front of the most famous castles: Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. I highly recommend trying to take the horse-drawn carriage to go up to Neuschwanstein Castle, otherwise you can go on foot, it's about 40 minutes, or the bus, which are found at the foot of the castle. We then visit a church in the middle of the Bavarian countryside and a typical village for cuckoo clocks at the foot of the Bavarian Alps.
Weisinerkirke
Day 327 Apr 2008
Nymphemburg Castle and return
On the last day we visit Nymphenburg Castle, very beautiful inside but small, and its splendid park. We finish with one last tour of Munich and then head back to Italy. A splendid trip between a beautiful city, fairy-tale castles, and enchanting landscapes. Apart from the food, which was terrible, so I recommend either pizzerias or, for those with a stomach for it, McDonald's, a wonderful trip.
