A six-day tour by car among these places in south-central France, discovering endless castles, caves, ancient villages, tourist attractions and nature! Very beautiful to visit are the countless caves near Brive, among which I recommend those of Padirac, Proumeyssac and Lascaux: for the latter you have to buy the ticket in the village, otherwise you won't get in. The Dune du Pyla is a dune of very fine sand about 2.5 km long, 150 m high and about 500 m wide; climbing to the top you can walk it on foot along its whole length enjoying an extraordinary panorama, but sunset is the most beautiful moment: when the sun disappears over the Bassin d'Arcachon! For us this one place alone is worth the whole trip! Biarritz faces the Atlantic near the border with Spain and deserves a visit. Carcassonne and Aigues Mortes are two towns surrounded by imposing medieval walls.
At Aigues Mortes (for a fee) you can walk the whole perimeter of the town along the walls, from which you enjoy a fine view. Marseille... apart from the traffic it is lovely to visit: the Vieux Port, Fort St. Nicolas, the Château d'If on its little island, Notre-Dame de la Garde and much more. Departure and arrival Busto Arsizio-VA, all-inclusive cost for 2 people including overnight stays (Etap Hotel), dinners, fuel, tolls and various entrances: 1000 euro, 3250 km driven in total. P.s. for visits to the many caves and/or castles the entrance fee runs (at full price) to around 8/10 euro per person and you cannot take photographs!
