Paris, a Flying Visit

…..Thursday morning, an early start to set off for Venice, where the plane to Paris is waiting for me… I arrive right on time, as does my colleague with whom I had an appointment… We reach the French capital around 16.00; time for a drink, a couple of steps to stretch our legs, and we get ready for dinner… A tremendous chaos, and just to cover about 10 km we spend over 1.30 h in a taxi… Dinner in a beautiful place where a Venetian-style setting had been created… We get back rather late, considering the journey and what awaited us the following day… On Friday we get up bright and early to go to the meeting for which we had travelled to France. It was held on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower…..stunning view….

We stay until 15.00, then we go out and decide to have a little wander around Paris, seeing that the return flight was at 21.15… We opt for a two-hour tour on one of those open-top buses, so we can better enjoy the view… We had little time left, we grab a bite near the Arc de Triomphe, then off at a run to the airport for the journey home…
