A Weekend in Nice

I'm exhausted — in four days we saw everything beautiful in Nice... I really needed a nice little holiday just to switch off from work and relax a bit. We took loads of photos of the most special places and now I'm posting them so you can see them too, here's the link. First of all, let me tell you I discovered that in the centre of Nice

there's a little shop in Nice selling all sorts of things that come straight from Japan — bags, gadgets, t-shirts, all our favourite characters!! This is the window display, and obviously you can only see a tiny part of what's inside!!!! I'll just say I would have taken the whole shop home with me: a small place, but enormous inside.

Japanese restaurant Another very special place we tried is the Japanese restaurant, just like the ones in Japan — in fact we experienced their traditions: as soon as we sat down they gave us the oshibori, a steaming little towel to clean our hands, which might be dirty after coming in from outside, then a little appetiser while we waited, and dinner based on rice and really delicious sushi!!

You can see the oshibori in the photo on the left — it feels so good to rub it on your hands, it leaves them all smooth and soft!

Another beautiful place is Parc Phoenix: a big park, it's lovely, it's in the airport area and is home to loads of animal species.

On the last day, on the way back, we stopped at the beach of Villefranche-sur-Mer, an enchanting spot with emerald sea, and in Montecarlo where Marco went wild driving the Formula 1 circuit... at a traffic light the starting grid positions were marked on the ground, how cool!!!! Towards evening we also passed through Noli as our last stop before heading home... what a wonderful trip, a dream
