BRUGES
Intimate, cosy, romantic and evocative. If you want to experience a fairytale atmosphere, don't limit yourself to a day trip to Bruges but stay in the evening too, after the hit-and-run tourists have gone, and enjoy its little streets, lit by lights that bounce off the water as you stroll along the canals beside the swans that will accompany you with their elegant gait in the silence of the night. And if the moon then plays at being found, hiding between one cloud and another above the town hall, you'll be able to say that for one evening you lived in a dream.
BRUSSELS
It's the sweetness of chocolate. I defy anyone to leave Brussels without having tasted or bought chocolate in all its forms. Solid, melted, liquid, ice-cream, mousse, worked with every imaginable ingredient and turned into any artistic or everyday object.
GHENT
It was the surprise. A historic centre and a medieval castle all to be visited in a university city full of young people and of places where you can stop to drink one of the delicious Belgian beers.
