The story

31 May Minsk (BELARUS)

Minsk, the capital of Belarus, is one of the most underrated destinations in Europe.

The wind, however, is starting to change; since February 2017, in fact, travellers can enter Belarus showing only their passport, without a tourist visa, for a maximum of 5 days.

This offers great opportunities to learn more about the history of a country still little known to the majority of travellers.

We decide to stay at the “Sport Time Hotel”, an excellent choice in the modern part of the city and a stone's throw from the futuristic Minsk Arena, the great sports centre!

What struck us immediately about Minsk was the green of the parks, everywhere, immense and well kept; let us remember that green is one of the colours dearest to Belarusians, present also in the flag (a symbol of hope and nature) together with red (blood and national pride) and the side stripe that recalls union and attachment to traditions!

01 June Minsk (BELARUS)

“Island of tears”, an impressive little island on an artificial pond, connected by a small bridge and built in memory of those who fell in the conflict in Afghanistan...

There is a large statue with many women holding a candle, a jar in their hands, all symbols of hope... hope of seeing their loved ones return from that distant land. There are also many rocks, each bearing the name of an Afghan mountain, so tall for Belarusians who have an entirely flat territory!
