The story

After so many trips, sooner or later we had to face the possibility of finding a whole week of rain... a shame, though, that fate wanted to pair it with the Seychelles!! A paradise on earth, but one that, under a leaden sky and in the pouring rain, loses much of its charm!!! The trip had already started badly from the outset, as our plane, which made a technical stopover in Mauritius...(the official excuse, but the real one was to pick up tourists from Mauritius and take them back to Italy using a single flight...), for reasons still unexplained today left us a whole night in Mauritius, making us leave the next day... in the end, for an 8-hour trip we did 19...

so NEVER AGAIN PHONE AND GO!!!!!!!!!! We stayed in Praslin, a lovely and pleasant island; we visited the Vallee de Mai, a splendid park in its natural state, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the only two places where the famous coco de mer grows. Another unmissable place is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, ANSE LAZIO; everywhere there are postcard-worthy corners!!!! To be seen under a clear sky, though, otherwise it loses all its charm!! Luckily the weather took pity on us for at least a few hours a day, enough to enjoy those fantastic colours that only the Indian Ocean can create.

We also hired a speedboat with other guests from the hotel through the beach boys; they took us to see the little islands nearby such as Curieuse Island and Saint Pierre; the more of you there are, the less you spend!! Through the hotel we joined the day trip to La Digue; honestly, this too is a trip you can do on your own, since on arrival at the jetty of La Digue there are countless bicycle hire places (the most used means on the island), so you can save something by buying the ferry ticket and renting the bike yourself. We got around La Digue easily; it's very small and lovely but the dark sky didn't let us fully appreciate the famous Anse Source d'Argent beach, the one with the granite blocks for sunbathing; to reach it you pay an entrance fee of 4 euros, valid all day. Anyway, the water is very shallow and so it's difficult to swim...

the little restaurant nearby (LANBOUSIR), with a sandy floor and run by three ladies, is ideal for refreshing yourself after a morning on the beach... they serve a fillet of fish that melts in your mouth!!! A shame about the weather that ruined our holiday, but in any case the Seychelles are wonderful and deserve to be seen again... with the sun, though!!!!!
