DIOLA TOUR

Day 1 Arrival and transfer to hotel

Day 2

After breakfast, departure for the visit of the Pink Lake, whose name comes from the pinkish colour of the waters, due to the presence of particular microorganisms. Stop for lunch. In the afternoon, continue to the city of Kaolack. Dinner and overnight at the Relais hotel or similar

Day 3

After breakfast, departure for Ziguinchor, crossing the Gambia river by ferry followed by visa formalities. Lunch at the Relais Fleuris and continue to Ziguinchor, accommodation at the Kandiandoumagne hotel or similar and boat trip on the Casamance river. Return, dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast, departure for the island of Carabane. Visit of the animist village of Diokher, Ndiambalang, its impluvium hut, Mlomp with its two-storey huts and continue to Carabane. An island lost between the mangroves, the ocean and the river, it was once the largest slave transit centre. Accommodation in hotel on full board. Free afternoon on a beautiful beach under the coconut palms. Day 5 After breakfast, departure by pirogue for Cap Skirring. Arrival and accommodation at the hôtel Maison Bleu. Free lunch. Afternoon of relaxation on the splendid beaches of Cap Skirring surrounded by coconut palms. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Free morning and lunch. Departure in the afternoon for Ziguinchor, visit of the craft village. Continue to Kandiandoumagne, dinner and overnight at the hotel or Nema Kadior.

Day 7

After breakfast, departure for Banjul, capital of The Gambia. Arrival and accommodation at the Atlantic hotel or similar. After lunch visit of the market and return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8

Departure after breakfast for the crossing of the Gambia river followed by visa formalities. Long transfer to Saly. Lunch at Toubacouta or Kaolack and continue. Arrival, accommodation at the Bougainvillier hotel or similar. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9

After breakfast, departure for the island of Gorée. Arrival in Dakar, a 20 mn crossing to reach the island of Gorée, cultural heritage of humanity and place of transit of slaves, small in size but of great historical importance. Return to Dakar, where rooms will be available to change, and departure.
