The story

A wonderful holiday: a honeymoon is unique, but the place certainly played its part too. We set off on 20/09 four hours late from Malpensa airport because the AIR EUROPE plane was stuck in Rome due to a big storm that had hit Italy that very day! After 10 hours of flight we arrive in MAURITIUS... Our tour operator HOTELPLAN is outside waiting to take us to our hotel... LE VICTORIA is simply fantastic... a spectacle... we were left speechless... In short, it really felt as if we had entered a dream. The room was enormous... two king-size beds... decorated with flower petals and lots of hearts... on the table lots of fruit and glasses to drink from... In the afternoon the girl from Hotelplan explains everything to us and organises lots of excursions for us... we trust her because we're complete novices... and we do well...

In the following days we visit: the PAMPLEMOUSSES garden with many plants, including the wedding one... we also visit the capital PORT LOUIS... its stunning market full of colours. GRAND BAIE... we also visit the shops where they make model sailing ships by hand... stunning... ÎLE AUX CERFS with a fantastic sea, and the luck that the local police found my husband's bum bag that he couldn't find any more... we were lucky... We visit the EXTINCT VOLCANO, THE COLOURED EARTHS AND GRAND BASSIN, THE CHAMAREL WATERFALL... and THE SACRED TEMPLE... We leave the beach life only for the last days, also because the water was a bit cold in this period, but deep down we love visiting too much... so we're delighted... we also do some water sports... The company of friends (Mauro, Sonia, Valentino, Sabina, Ennio and Marzia) is excellent... we always get together in the evening too to eat together...

A wonderful honeymoon: MAURITIUS is not just sea, but a mix of landscapes, colours, flowers, animals and magical places... a piece of my heart stayed there... The people are very friendly and likeable... you see a lot of ethnicities... then the nicest thing is the calm they pass on to you... they're certainly not as frantic as us, and I'd be curious to know whether the boy who was building the jetty on the sea has finished... he was of an indescribable slowness... Thank you Mauritius...
