Day 12 Feb 2009

Nile Cruise 4 nights from Luxor to Aswan, Abu Simbel, Cairo. Trip organized by Viaggi del Turchese, intense program, wake-up at dawn almost every morning. The temples are beautiful and the navigation on the Nile very pleasant. At Kom Ombo we risked missing the ship because the guide had arranged to meet us in one place but then since most of the group had followed her she hadn't noticed our absence, but the ship noticed that two passengers hadn't come back and immediately sent a staff member to the dock to look for us. The ship Nile Crown I is pleasant, everything worked properly, when we returned from the excursions a nice glass of lemonade or Karkadè was always waiting for us. After 4 days of visits to the various temples along the Nile we arrived in Aswan where we then took a coach to Abu Simbel and after visiting the temple, the plane to Cairo.

Cairo is a chaotic and very polluted city. We visited the pyramids, the souk and the citadel. The trip is very beautiful, very tiring, Egypt is stunning and although it was February on the cruise it was on average 26-28 degrees during the day but at night the temperature dropped a lot; in Cairo it was fine with a sweatshirt and around midday even in short sleeves. I recommend everyone to see the wonders of ancient Egypt, words are not enough to describe those wonders.
