With Swan tour we spent a week at the Kahramana Beach Resort in Marsa Alam (5*****). The village is very beautiful, very well kept, clean. On the beach, given the season, the sunbeds are more than enough, the staff are friendly and polite. The coral reef is a bit hard to reach because you have to go up and down the steep ladder of the jetty, watched closely by the lifeguard. Much more convenient is to use the shuttle that every hour in 10 minutes takes you to Abu Dabab beach, where you can easily get into the sea and with a bit of luck you see turtles and the legendary Dugong. The entertainers kept us pleasantly occupied without being too intrusive. We did 2 sea excursions. The first to QULAAN in the Wadi el Gimal nature park, where we snorkelled around 3 atolls, and we saw a reef rich in many varieties of colourful fish.
The day was spent entirely at sea and the lunch aboard the boat was very good. The second excursion we went to Salaya and Marsa Shuni, the most beautiful bays of Marsa Alam, with a beautiful untouched reef. It would all seem beautiful, but no!!!!! The negative note is the food at the Kahramana. Breakfast all ok: Lunch and dinner always the same: chicken, fish for 7 days of the same quality and always cooked the same way (stewed) and beef (?????) tough and stewed. Vegetables always messed up with little sauces and various dressings, fruit of 3 kinds (dates, apples and oranges), sweets in quantity but all of the same taste. We'll gloss over the coffee. I repeat that the location is very beautiful, that my wife and I are people with normal culinary tastes and that in any case as far as the food is concerned it was, on the part of the Italians present, a general cry.
Out of love for Marsa Alam we will certainly return but definitely to another resort. Bye everyone Anna and Angelo
