We set off by car and, having arrived in Genoa, we boarded the ship for Barcelona. The ship was packed with Moroccans returning to their country for the holidays. Their cars and vans were impossibly full, one car was missing 10 cm and then it was touching the road. They, though, were continuing on to Tangier. A calm crossing. Arriving in Barcelona, we headed to our hotel (via Augusta) on via Augusta. Very welcoming: the staff spoke Italian, the rooms clean and close to the buses and metro. Very importantly there was free wifi for the laptop. We toured far and wide with the 3-day card bought in Italy and you could travel on all means of transport. Spain is very expensive. We ate well, paella, and drank sangria. We visited the main monuments.
I really liked the Rambla (a famous street full of street artists and many tourists); then once the days were over we set off by car towards France and stopped at Carcassonne, Sète, Grasse etc...
