The story

if you want to know more or see all the photos visit:

November 21 Kasane (BOTSWANA)

[Stefy]: "The border is not very far from the small town of Victoria Falls and already in the early afternoon we reach the banks of the Chobe River.

We enter Botswana along a long strip of black asphalt, at the edges of which every now and then we crossed a zebra or an elephant… how strange to read the danger sign: "no entering the bush due to the presence of wild animals".

November 22 Kasane (BOTSWANA)

We set off at dawn to discover Chobe National Park.

It's quite cold on these open off-road vehicles; as on every game drive, we immediately immerse ourselves in the wonderful and wild life of the savanna. The Chobe River flows calmly, providing hospitality, shelter and sustenance to the numerous herds of animals.

Some African wild dogs, in a pack, approach menacingly toward a small group of ugly marabou storks (you certainly can't say it's a good-looking animal!), a dozen elephants, in single file, follow the head of the family, who calls them back with a powerful trumpeting; some crocodiles bask in the sun along the riverbank…

November 23 Nata (BOTSWANA)

[Stefy]: "After a whole day of truck we stop at Nata and, more precisely, for the night, at Elephant Sands. There's a big waterhole that attracts many elephants… on our arrival we see a couple really close by… about twenty minutes later about fifteen male specimens come to drink (they explained to us that during the day the males go and in the evening the females with the young).

The evening, in fact, is magical! Three baby elephants a few months old seek their mother's trunk, her protection; two big males clash hard and the dull sound of their tusks echoes high in the night.

November 24 Maun (BOTSWANA)

Planet Baobab. A small resort that tends wonderful ancient baobabs… there's one truly majestic that they say is 2500 years old! It's impressive, it intimidates you, it seems like an old sage watching you sternly…

Finally we reach Maun, and with us some big grey clouds! We take the chance to set up camp right away and off we race to the airport before the weather conditions become prohibitive! We take off in a Cessna just as it starts to rain but, after a short turn to the left, we are immediately up over this enormous flat expanse that surrounds the Okavango River. We spot many animals, the odd elephant, groups of antelopes, hippos, gazelles… It's very exciting because you get a view of life on the savanna from a privileged point of view…

I felt like one of those old missionaries who moved from one remote village to another aboard these small planes… I fly to discover the Okavango Delta… the river that neither flows into the sea nor joins another river; its mouth disperses into a swamp in an area of the Kalahari Desert known as the Okavango Delta.

It starts to rain more heavily… we head back to the Sedia River Lodge under a deluge, a downpour that in these places seems even more disastrous… we give up cooking and take refuge in the terrible restaurant of our lodge…
