The story

Argentina by Daniele Somenzi (2nd time with Giuseppe) We land in Buenos Aires with Alitalia after a flight that was, to say the least, unusual: during the night, flying over Brazil, while we were all asleep, an air pocket made the plane drop many metres in a second, and after we'd all woken up we hoped it wouldn't happen again, at least for the rest of our lives - it was rather terrifying. Luckily after that it was all stable. We change airports by bus, to the domestic airport, where on an Aerolineas Argentinas MD80 (my favourite) we fly to Foz do Iguazu (the second time for me). Here we sleep one night in a nice hotel with a pool and breakfast included in the price, then visit the marvellous falls, both from the Brazilian side, complete with a hang-glider ride, and from the Argentine side, complete with a speedboat trip right under them - so close we all got soaked to the underwear.

We go back to the hotel and dive into the pool over and over, given the tropical heat. The next day we take the flight from Iguazu Falls and fly to Buenos Aires domestic airport, where, with a connection, we carry on to Tierra del Fuego, to Ushuaia. Here they take us to a youth hostel, where we sleep for a night. Luckily the sky is clear the following day, so the walk in the mountains is very beautiful. In January Ushuaia is lit by the sun almost 24 hours a day, being so far south and in the height of summer. Bye
