Guam by Daniele Somenzi with Giuseppe I would never have believed I'd return to Guam, but the flight to Palau has a compulsory connection at Guam, an American militarised island, with American licence plates on the cars and the US dollar as its valid currency. The local Chamorro and Tano populations are few and, anyway, they're happy to have been invaded by the Americans; they have work and prosperity thanks to them. Giuseppe and I, just landed in Guam, wait at the airport a few hours and set off in the dark on the Continental B 737. Here the mobile works, thank goodness, so I can send and receive texts. It's a shame we arrive in Palau in the dark; we missed the beauty of the atoll seen from above. bye
