Daniele Somenzi, Australia with Emilio Coming from Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, we land in Cairns, where our 2 friends on their honeymoon from Sabbioneta await us, having arrived 2 hours earlier with Qantas via Singapore. We organise ourselves and, with the rental car, in the following days we go to Port Douglas, where we rent jet skis and have fun riding the waves at sea. Then the next day we also set off for the coral reef with Quicksilver. A dip in the streams behind the sea on the green mountains doesn't hurt. We leave the humidity of the northern Queensland with a Qantas flight; with the little jumbo we land at Ayers Rock. Awaiting us is a rather unusual event, namely rain and cold. But it passes quickly.
In Yulara we sleep a couple of nights and make the usual excursions, to Ayers Rock and the Olgas mountains; I say usual, of course, because for me they were the replica of a replica, while for them they were not; in fact the visit was very successful. Here we split up: the two newlyweds fly to Sydney and Emilio and I to Perth. And we go on, taking a rental car and heading north, up to Monkey Mia, where the dolphins await us. And a lot of wind; they say that in those parts it blows 6 months a year. They harness the wind with 2 giant blades for wind power. On the way back toward Perth we stop at Geraldton and at Kalbarri park, where we also meet the thorny devil, a graceful little lizard with spikes all over its body. In the morning the parrots wake us and in the evening we are in Cervantes to see the pinnacles.
In Perth the Cathay Pacific A330 flight takes us back to Hong Kong, where with the connection we fly to London and then to Italy, to Pisa. bye
