Australia icon the Suzuki 600 DR Melbourne, it's the second time I've come to Australia and I discover that Maria, my girlfriend, didn't wait 6 months for me and then go back to being with me, but went off with her ex, so nothing was keeping me for another 6 months in Melbourne where I had worked the previous time. So I take my motorbike, which had been there waiting for me, and I set off early in the morning, on a beautiful day, heading for Sydney, about 750 km. Thank goodness most of the road is motorway, I arrived before dark. I find somewhere to sleep in a hostel. It's the first time I go to Sydney; with the motorbike everything is easier, I cross the Harbour Bridge and take a few photos with the bay and its Opera House in the background, very beautiful.
I also go up the big tower from where you can see all of Sydney, and from where I send a postcard from the highest letterbox in Australia. I sleep the second night in the same hostel, on the top floor. The next morning I wake up early to do an epic stretch, 900 km in one day from Sydney to the Gold Coast. In the morning riding is wonderful but as the hours pass it all goes from joy to stress, and near dark my reaction times in case of sudden braking have got longer. Luckily I didn't have to test them, I reached my destination. I must say that, being alone, the beat of my motorbike's piston kept me company the whole trip. Great bike. bye
