Tasmania Marco and I land in Hobart from Adelaide; the landing with Virgin Blue was turbulent, lots of wind made us bounce around a fair bit, but then the beauty of the island, a carbon copy of New Zealand, immediately made us forget the bad moment. We rent a powerful, sporty car even though we didn't ask for the smallest one. And we head south-east, as far as Port McArthur. Here nature rules, few inhabitants and lots of cows. Unfortunately the first 2 days the weather is foul and we get a bit sad. But then around Launceston the sun comes out, and so it stays until the end of our stay on the Australian island. We visit a cave with stalagmites; we like the tour very much. Then in the eucalyptus wood where we see kangaroos and kookaburras. A visit too to a kind of zoo with Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, koalas and all the rest.
Penguin is a little village by the sea that seems straight out of a fairy tale. Tasmania is beautiful, even though I already knew that, having been there years before with my uncle Nando. We set off from Launceston to Sydney with Jetstar. bye
