It is almost 14:00 and skyscrapers appear out of the desert. Here we are, we have arrived in the city of vices. The hotels are enormous and ours is one of the biggest: the MGM Grand. This first-class superior hotel has 5,005 rooms, 9 restaurants, 5 pools, 4 tennis courts, a gym with sauna and whirlpool, a 15,000-seat arena (where boxing matches are often held), and many other attractions such as nightclubs, shops, and of course the super casino. Just entering the lobby, we were amazed by the enormity of this place. The attraction of this hotel is the lion that lives in an area created just for him, all enclosed in glass. We spend practically all the rest of the day going around the hotel to understand what it offers and how to get around in the coming days. In the evening we have dinner in a beautiful Italian restaurant: il fiamma.
By now it has been too long since we ate "home-style," and this will prove to be an excellent place with excellent service and excellent cuisine. A little stop at the casino and we can cheerfully bid farewell to another day that vanishes.

Day 26 Aug 2007
This is the life!!
We get up early and get ready to go to the pool. The day is perfect and the sun is very strong. A DJ entertains us with his house music, and the waiters pass frequently to quench the thirst of anyone who needs it. We move to another pool that has a current-water channel that lets you go the whole length of the pool without any effort. It is 14:00 and we realise we are almost scorched, so we decide it is time for a snack at the rain restaurant. This restaurant reproduces a forest under the elements. Rain and thunder are simulated while the sounds of a lion or a monkey are heard. The ceiling is all starry and the scenery changes continually. We get a hamburger with fries and enjoy the show… After a little siesta, we devote ourselves to shopping, and after dinner (again at il fiamma) we go out around the Strip. We take the shuttle and get off in the Caesar's Palace area.
At night Las Vegas offers its best and dazzles you with its thousands of multicoloured lights. We go around the Strip to observe the various hotels with their own attractions: the Mirage with the erupting volcano, the ultra-luxurious Bellagio with the lake and the water jets timed to music, the New York New York with the roller coaster, and many others still. Limousines, nightclubs, night spots, pubs, and everything you could want is here in Las Vegas.

Day 37 Aug 2007
bye bye Las Vegas
After check-out we go to the Alamo office to drop off the car, and with the shuttle we go to the airport. By now we are at the gate waiting for boarding when we notice some slot machines. Well, one last little go has to be made… Bye bye Las Vegas
