This park will enchant us with the beauty of its landscapes of sculptures eroded by rain and wind.

Day 14 Aug 2007

Bryce Canyon

We get up early, aware that 450 km lie ahead of us. Luckily the car is comfortable and the road offers many attractions: from Lake Powell, to Antelope Canyon, from Zion Park to arriving in the afternoon at Bryce Canyon. So we return to a national park, and you can tell from the organisation. The rangers welcome you at the park entrance to collect the admission fee. You are given the park map and an information sheet about all the curiosities of the park and all the services it offers. We immediately notice a considerable country influence, from the various cowboy hats, to the rodeos that are organised, ending up in the small western-style village. We stop at the Bryce View Lodge, where we have our reservation, and shortly afterwards we set off again to discover Bryce Canyon.

Here too there are several point views from which to enjoy the panorama, and to tell the truth, here nature has really outdone itself. I think that to form such a masterpiece through the erosion of wind and rain, an infinite number of factors are needed, and that is why it is an almost unique place in the world. I could search for a thousand words to describe this astonishing place, but I don't think I could ever convey the idea of the splendour of this place. Having toured the most important places in the park and watched the sunset, we return to the hotel, where I can finally take a nice aspirin! Damn the air conditioning…I have a terrible sore throat. We go to bed early in the hope that I can recover for the great Las Vegas.
