Monument Valley by car
After about 3 hours of travel, we arrive at the Holiday Inn in Kayenta, where we refresh a bit and then set off again for Monument Valley, which is about 40 km away. Already from the road, you can see these rock formations created by the wind, and everything seems to be in a surreal world. Many times we've seen these places in various Western films, but being there in person is a whole different thing. Upon arrival at the entrance, a woman welcomes us to collect the entrance fee. In fact, Monument Valley is not a national park because it's Navajo territory, and so they manage everything. They propose an excursion with one of their jeeps to see the various viewpoints and reserved areas that only they know, but from what we've heard, it's not worth it, and we save ourselves $150!! So we venture out with our car, and little by little, we observe the various scenic points.
We really have a lot of fun and absolutely don't regret doing the tour independently. Only a couple of hours have passed, but this experience makes us feel happy yet also tired. So we return to Kayenta, where we literally collapse.
