Everyone knows that Thanksgiving is a deeply felt holiday in America and enthusiasts of the U.S.A. like us certainly couldn't refuse the invitation to take part. And if you then consider that it means spending it in New York, which we hadn't visited yet... well then it's really the icing on the cake! We set off from Genoa with an Alitalia flight and stop over in Rome. From here we set off again more than 2 hours late and this means our afternoon in New York is already well and truly gone, in fact the arrival was scheduled for 2pm but we arrive at past 4pm. Having collected our luggage we go to ask for information on the fastest way to reach Manhattan and, given the traffic, we opt for the train plus subway. The initial impact is shocking. As soon as we arrive at N.Y. Penn Station we find ourselves catapulted into the most absolute chaos.
Around us is a myriad of people of every colour and race moving at the speed of light and we try to move as best we can, dragging our suitcase and slaloming through the crowd. And here the fun begins!
