DISCOVERING THE AMERICAN PARKS SAN FRANCISCO LOS ANGELES AND LAS VEGAS WITH CARLOALBERTO AND VERONICA GIFT FOR CARLOALBERTO'S HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION

Day 115 Aug 2007

Day 1: Italy - San Francisco Departure on a scheduled flight to San Francisco. On arrival, independent transfer to the hotel (not included in the price) and time at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. Day 2: San Francisco The morning is devoted to visiting the city of San Francisco, including the Civic Center, Japan Town, St. Mary's Cathedral, Twin Peaks and the Golden Gate Bridge. The visit ends with reaching one of the city's most famous areas, Fisherman's Wharf. The rest of the day at leisure for optional visits and shopping. Overnight at the hotel. Day 3: San Francisco - Yosemite National Park - Mammoth Lakes In the morning we set off for one of the most famous parks in the United States, Yosemite National Park, which is characterised by breathtaking views. Indeed, here the landscape is spectacular with its sheer granite walls, sculpted ice domes, glaciers and flowering meadows.

You then cross the Tioga Pass to reach Mammoth Lakes, where the overnight stay takes place. Day 4: Mammoth Lakes - Death Valley - Las Vegas Today we reach Death Valley, a spectacular desert characterised by sand dunes, high peaks and multi-coloured rocks. There is a stop for the visit of the Panamint mountains and the sand dunes of Furnace Creek. We then continue on to the exciting city of Las Vegas, which every year attracts millions of visitors. Overnight at the hotel. Day 5: Las Vegas - Zion National Park - Bryce Canyon National Park Today we set off for Zion National Park, characterised by multicoloured walls and gorges with colours ranging from purple to lilac, from yellow to pink, sparkling in the light of the sun.

After the visit, we continue to Bryce Canyon National Park, a collection of exceptional and multi-coloured gigantic rock formations that become particularly evocative at dawn and sunset. Overnight at the hotel. Day 6: Bryce Canyon National Park - Salt Lake City In the morning you visit Bryce National Park and its curious rock formations. We then continue north until we reach Salt Lake City. Overnight at the hotel. Day 7: Salt Lake City - Jackson Before setting off for Jackson, time at leisure to visit Salt Lake City, the city founded by the Mormon leader in 1847. Among the main attractions we remember the Salt Lake City Temple, the Tabernacle and the Family History Library. In the afternoon we reach Jackson. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Jackson - Yellowstone National Park - Jackson In the morning you visit Yellowstone National Park, characterised by lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges. The visit includes Old Faithful and the geyser basin, the Hayden Valley and Lake Yellowstone. Return to Jackson and overnight at the hotel. Day 9: Jackson - Grand Teton National Park - Rock Springs Today we reach the Grand Teton National Park, one of the most spectacular places in America. This natural park, which occupies the Jackson Hole valley, is home to breathtaking mountains, huge lakes and rivers and an abundance of wildlife. In the afternoon, we reach Rock Springs for the overnight stay. Day 10: Rock Springs - Arches National Park - Moab In the morning we set off in the direction of Moab.

Along the route there is a stop at Arches National Park, which contains the world's greatest concentration of sandstone arches creating an incredible and surreal landscape. The most famous of these arches is the Delicate Arch. The Great Parks Continuation to Moab, where the overnight stay takes place. Day 11: Moab - Monument Valley - Tuba City In the morning we set off for Monument Valley, one of the places most captured by international cinema. This valley is characterised by rock pinnacles surrounded by shrubs, trees and wind-blown sand. We then continue to Tuba City for the overnight stay. Day 12: Tuba City - Grand Canyon Today we reach the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, for a visit. It is a steep gorge carved by the Colorado River over the last 6 thousand years.

The canyon offers unrivalled panoramas with majestic rock formations and truly remarkable colours. Overnight at the hotel. Day 13: Grand Canyon - Sedona - Scottsdale The journey continues through the scenic Oak Creek Canyon, a spectacular gorge full of streams and waterfalls enclosed between sheer rock walls. In the afternoon we set off for Scottsdale, where arrival is expected in the mid-afternoon. Time at leisure and overnight stay. Day 14: Scottsdale - Los Angeles In the morning, departure for Los Angeles. Time at leisure and overnight at the hotel. Day 15: Los Angeles In the morning, tour of the city of Los Angeles, including Hollywood, the Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theatre, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. Afternoon at leisure for optional visits, for shopping or for relaxation. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 16: Los Angeles - Italy At the appropriate time, independent transfer to the airport (not included in the price) and departure for Italy. Meals and overnight on board. Day 17: Italy Arrival in Italy and end of the
