LAS VEGAS
.......continues from CALIFORNIA...
After crossing the border into Nevada, we continue to Las Vegas. We arrive before lunch and the city is wrapped in a thick blanket of heat... the car thermometer reads 45 and you just have to open the window to understand that it's working perfectly! We take refuge in the hotel. This time we chose to stay at the Bellagio, as they say, at least once in a lifetime...All our expectations are fully met and the glass window overlooking the lake and the fountain show is the cherry on top of a fantastic room! Welcoming us was a box of fine chocolates and the best wishes of the staff who wished us a pleasant stay. Classy. The rest of the hotel is easily visitable by all. Fantastic is the lobby and the area around the café, set up like a fantasy garden with floral arrangements.
We give up on spending the afternoon in the hotel pools (beautiful but too crowded) and begin our tour of the casinos, the true and only attraction of the city. Caesar's Palace, Mirage, Treasure Island, Winn, The Venetian & Palazzo.... The difference in temperature between indoors and outdoors puts us to the test. In the evening we go out again, walking the Strip in the opposite direction... there are new casinos opened recently, but they're nothing special, so we proceed toward New York New York, Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay where we have dinner at the casino buffet. Prices increased and quality decreased, this time it doesn't fully satisfy us even though the feast is obligatory. We head back toward the Bellagio, this time with the nighttime view of the Strip.
Before retiring we admire the fountain show of our hotel and here, although knowing what to expect, the water displays accompanied by the notes and the voice of Bocelli give us chills and.. a bit of pride for this demonstration of esteem toward Italy.
