Hawaii Hanauma Bay I am on Oahu, the most famous island of the Hawaiian archipelago, that is, where the capital Honolulu is. Here Nicola and I take a bus from the centre, which takes us with a couple of hours of travel and many stops to the most beautiful bay of the island, Hanauma Bay precisely. Here an 800-metre-long beach and a lagoon surrounded by a height that, from above, resembles the caldera of a volcano. The fish surround you when you enter the water, and everything is framed by tall palms, which create an ideal place to spend a relaxing day. Here smoking is forbidden to prevent people from throwing cigarette butts on the beach, and appointed people patrol up and down the beach checking that the ban is enforced. Many Japanese on holiday crowd the beach.
In the evening, after many swims, Nicola and I line up in an orderly way to get on the bus that takes us back to the Honolulu hostel where we have been sleeping for a week. bye
