The story

Flight: Yemenia Hotel: Burj Al Salam Tours: Nomadi Travel

Comments: Flight: Odd times, especially the night return, but it let us stay an extra day. All in all the airline is excellent!!! Hotel: in the city centre, veeery picturesque, excellent breakfast, welcome and facilities. Also run by Italian staff. Tours: Given the little time available we organised excursions in the city's surroundings, reachable by jeep with a driver and, if wanted, a guide. We visited Shibam, Wadi Dhar, Thula, etc. The whole population is very hospitable and curious. We never had the impression of being in danger, so I'd advise not going far from the capital and its surroundings. For women it's advisable to wear decent clothing, nothing low-cut or tight. Covering your head isn't compulsory except in the mosque. We were fascinated.... it felt like a fairytale.....the buildings, the souk, the people, the women, the smells, the food and the children......
