A Stop in Dubai

I have set foot in the United Arab Emirates on two occasions during the same trip made in Indochina (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Laos, to which I refer to the relevant itineraries). In fact the flight plan included a stop to change aircraft at Dubai International Airport. I was in the company of two friends and we were flying with Emirates. On the outward journey we stopped at the airport without leaving it. We came from Rome and were heading to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. On the return, coming from Bangkok in Thailand, we landed shortly before dawn and, having to wait more than five hours for the next flight, together with one of my travel companions I took a taxi into the city. We reached the seafront to see the "Sail" skyscraper, one of the symbols of Dubai. After taking some photos we passed along the motorway near the structure that houses the ski slope.

We then stopped in what can be called the centre to see the skyscrapers, including the tallest in the world. We then returned to the airport, where, rejoining our travel companion, we took the flight to Rome.
