Back to Istanbul..

Finally I'm back in the Turkish capital...probably the city closest to my heart, the one that has charmed me the most...I have to admit that at the sight of Turkish mosques I no longer understand anything, I'd stay for hours staring at them like a child when he sees sweets! The city is immense...I passed through again on my way back from the Middle East this year and after 5 years it seemed even bigger to me...practically it never ends...it's absurd!! This trip didn't even concern me...but I tagged along with my aunt and my cousin who were going to celebrate the latter's birthday...so I also had more freedom to move around without the classic annoyances parents can give you.

First of all I find the Turkish a truly welcoming people, they help you if you need a hand, they offer you tea without even knowing you and without you asking for something, and they're very hospitable...maybe they won't be the same for women eheh! The city is beautiful, it's the only one in the world where half is European and half is Asian, with a sign dividing the 2 continents.

Mosques are everywhere...but obviously the 3 most important dominate...namely the Blue one, imposing and right in the centre of the city, the Suleymaniye and the Hagia Sophia, true jewels of Muslim architecture...and I also recommend a trip on the Bosphorus, to see not only the European part but also the Asian one...obviously without missing the opportunity to eat an exquisite kebab, which personally is the best among those I've ever eaten, as well as being really cheap! The days flew by and we're back on the plane...this second trip too I had a great time...there's no point, I like this city more and more...I already want to go back to it!!
