It's been a few years now that my ties with Turkey have been intertwining, to the point that we opened a small business between Istanbul and Ankara, precisely in Buzuiuk.....but that's another story...... The gateway has always been Istanbul, long known as the eye or the gateway of the East; for me too it has always marked the passage between the elegant city on the European side and the hinterland of Turkey.....quite another spectacle. Unfortunately I have always experienced Istanbul on the margins of my Turkish trips, but I can easily say that it's among the cities that have struck and fascinated me the most and it certainly deserves to be discovered to the very end; the history that precedes it comes from far away and the surprises certainly aren't lacking.
The city welcomes you with its exaggerated traffic; ready, set, and you're already in a queue....from the airport to the city centre....3 hours at a snail's pace..... The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar welcome you with their grandeur, wealth and history; in short, Istanbul is truly a city not to be missed.
