Scotland, the Dream of My Life.

I wanted to see Scotland, expecting to crown a dream, and I must say that reality surpassed the dream. We took a KLM flight from Treviso to London, where we stayed 3 days. Then we picked up the car, already booked from Italy, and set off for the NORTH. As stops along the way we chose York, whose cathedral is truly a dream, and then the Lake District, with a stop in a town a little off the usual circuit, namely Keswick. The Scottish route focused above all on the Highlands and their unspoilt, wild character. We skipped Glasgow and travelled the west side up to the north, then came back down south on the east side, as far as Edinburgh, where we stayed two full days and from which we took a night bus back to London.

We hadn't booked accommodation and always slept in bed and breakfasts, which, given the time of year and the fact that there were only two of us, we were able to choose and compare for price and taste, even arriving at each stop late in the evening. We did a lot of kilometres and many single-track trails, we saw types in kilts walking in the middle of nowhere, sheep, bulls, salmon swimming upstream with unimaginable leaps, lochs, castles and moorland, moorland and moorland without end. Scotland is wonderful and has unique skies.
