Our trip took in pretty much all of Scotland. We set off from Glasgow and returned from Edinburgh, passing through the following places: Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, the Isle of Skye, Fort William, Inverness, Dufftown (the whisky capital), Stirling and Edinburgh (with its street performers' festival), as well as the main castles of the Highlands. The best things I saw were, in my view: -The castles of Blair, Glamis, Eilean Donan and Cawdor (the castles of Edinburgh, Stirling and Inverness were a let-down) -The distillery tours, especially those of Glenfiddich, Glenlivet and Strathisla (Chivas) -Taking part in traditional Scottish games -Wandering around Edinburgh, watching the street performers (the international street performers' festival was on) -Driving through the Highlands, admiring the landscapes.
The Isle of Skye and Glencoe in particular have stayed with me The only downside of this trip is the extremely high cost of absolutely everything...
