One of those trips you plan your whole life, a group of friends. You study the details for months... then someone changes their mind, someone else has no leave, one falls ill and we take him to hospital in Milan... and at the last moment you find yourself alone, just the 2 of you, with a camper already rented! OFF WE GO! We set off all the same! From Galbiate, because it's better to start from northern Italy, meeting friends in Milan, than from your own home in Siracusa (saving about 3,000 km and over 2 days of travel). We cross Switzerland via the San Gottardo pass, then enter Germany to take the smooth German motorways. After 1000 km we reach the ferries to cross the Channel. Leaving Galbiate at 12 on 20/6, by 9 the next day we are in Canterbury for a stop; we will travel to near Manchester to rest a few hours at night, and on the morning of the 22nd we are in Edinburgh.
Here the real journey begins, among history, nature, legends, monsters, elves, castles, costumes and customs far more distant from Italy than the 8000 km I will cover around Europe in 2 weeks. Tips: book the ferries from Calais (or Dunkirk) to Dover via the internet (it's possible on site too, but they cost more); get a list of campsites in Europe: they're found everywhere, but it's better to know where to go so as not to waste time needlessly; among the campsites to try, certainly those in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. With a budget of about 1,500 euros, it's an experience I highly recommend everyone try.
