London Calling

Weekend — long weekend in London. The redemption of a magnificent city I had never managed to fully appreciate (and even now I can't explain why).

ACCOMMODATION Mabledon Court Hotel Bloomsbury district Near St Pancras. Very small rooms but fairly cheap, 85 pounds for a double per night (by London prices) Ask for the rooms overlooking the nearby garden and you can enjoy the priceless sight of a family of urban squirrels.

NOT TO BE MISSED (absolutely) 1. Tour the city on the upper deck of the famous London buses 2. Enjoy a musical in the West End theatres 3. On Sunday morning go jogging (but even a simple walk will do) in one of the magnificent parks (Hyde Park, Regent's Park or Green Park)
