Departure from Chiasso (Switzerland), first stop in Bellinzona to meet up with everyone and then off to conquer the first pass, the San Bernardino. After lunch in Tiefencastel, we continued on the Albula Pass to reach Zernez. From there the group split up for a medical emergency: Effe and I stopped in Scuol, while the rest of the group headed towards Austria, taking the Venosta Pass and then the Stelvio Pass down to Bormio, where Effe and I, after a long wait in Scuol, returned to Zernez to take first the Forno Pass, which crosses the Swiss National Park, and then the Umbrail Pass, which also includes 3 km of gravel road, to rejoin the Stelvio Pass and descend to Bormio, where we caught up with the group. After spending the night in S. Caterina Valfurva, the journey home took us over the Foscagno Pass and the Eira Pass to Livigno, where we played tourist for a while.
Once back on the road we did the Forcola di Livigno, the Bernina Pass, crossed St. Moritz, then the Julier Pass to Savognin and Tiefencastel again, to finally retrace our first day's steps and descend from the San Bernardino. After two days and more than 600 km in the saddle of our motorbikes, we are tired but happy.
